On September 23, 2016 Children’s Physicians Medical Group (CPMG) was awarded the 2016 Ronald P. Bangasser Memorial Award for Quality Improvement for our region of California at the 15th Annual Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) Stakeholders Meeting in Los Angeles. Dr. Marshall Littman graciously accepted the award from the non-profit IHA on behalf of our organization.
The IHA Ronald P. Bangasser award recognizes the physician organizations in each of eight regions that demonstrate the greatest improvement in the measurement year of 2015, based on commercial Pay for Performance measures of Clinical Quality, Patient Experience, and Meaningful Use of Health IT. IHA promotes the continuing evolution of integrated health care, supported by financial mechanisms that align the incentives of purchasers, payers, and providers, as the best means to achieve the most positive outcomes for patients and the general public in California. IHA is responsible for collecting data, deploying a common measure set, and reporting results on behalf of ten health plans for approximately 200 physician organizations caring for about 9 million members.
This is the third time CPMG has received this award in the last five years – we were also recipients in 2011 and 2012. This award reflects the high-quality work and dedication of our staff and network of physicians in providing the best possible care to our membership.
